Advance Notice! The Great Canadian VI (six) Day Trial, Wednesday 30 June to Wednesday 7 July 2027 (Twenty Seven) begins to take shape…


The dualsport and adventure bike event of the decade will be built upon the established format of the GoldRiver events staged by Vancouver Island Motosports Events and will combine the three, day-stages of The Great Canadian (motorcycle) Roadbook event and the day-night-day event of Les 24 Heures du Gold River (events for 2026).


The provisional programme for the VI Day Trial is:

Wednesday 30 June 2027 - sign on and evening prologue, 100km (to set the start order)

Thursday 1 July 2027 - Canada Day one day stage, 250km

Friday 2 July and Saturday 3 July 2027 - day/night/day stage, 450km

Sunday 4, Monday 5, Tuesday 6 July 2027 - three day/two night marathon stage (Moto Malle), 800Km

Go Home (tired, sore, happy) Wednesday 7 July 2027.


The event bivouac will be in Gold River, fuel, creature comforts. The overnight halt for the day/night/day stage will be in the vicinity of Port McNeill. The bivouac for the marathon Moto Malle stage will be near Port Alice with evening meal provided by an event partner.


The routes will be constructed around the petrol stations of the north island, a fuel range of 200km will be more than sufficient.


This will be a competitive roadbook event, run to Regularity rally principles over the public highway gravel road network of the north of Vancouver Island. All riders must hold a valid motorcycle licence, all bikes must be registered and insured as road vehicles.


If you cant get a week off work, or face 1600km (1000mi) of riding, the event can be ridden as either of the three-day elements (but not competitively).
