GoldRiver400 - Les Chemins Sauvages Thurs (eve) 27 June to Mon (eve) 1 July

The GoldRiver400 - Les Chemins Sauvage Dualsport Trials will be a four day, *motorcycle* marathon Gaia and Roadbook navigation event over the gravel highways that run through the forests, past the rivers and lakes and over the mountains of the north of Vancouver Island. All the roads are on Crown Land which means there are NO GATES!

The event will open on Thursday afternoon of the 27th June 2024 in Gold River, Strathcona with registration and scrutineering of road legal Dualsport and Adventure bikes and riders.

There will be four, full days of routes, each starting and finishing in Gold River. The routes will have gravel transfer stages to Woss and Sayward Junction for second breakfast/dinner and fuel before a selection of continuation routes of varying difficulty and returning to Gold River.

The full event distance will be of the order of 1400km, all but 50km on gravel.

There will be three classes of participation:

EXPLORATION following Gaia routes;

NAVIGATION routes by Roadbook

and

CHALLENGE competition routes by Roadbook with Richta timing.

Participants will be able to switch between classes mid-event depending on their fortunes and mood…

Group campsite bivouac, petrol, cafe, restaurants and pub in Gold River.

Prize-giving and results in the Ridge Pub on the evening of Canada Day Mon 1st July 2024.

Early bird entry $300 Cdn until 26 Dec 2023.

Then $350 until 1 April 2024

Then $400…

The GR400 is open to USA entrants, all participants must comply with BC road traffic legislation.

  • Introduction for Dualsport Trials first-timers!

    If the GoldRiver400 - Chemins Sauvage will be your first Dualsport Trials event, you will be given complimentary access to the VIME training programme on this website as introduction to the tech and navigation methods of Dualsport Trials and a complimentary invitation to a May training day in Parksville to cover the same syllabus in person.
