The Great Canadian (motorcycle) Roadbook Rally - GoldRiver 1 - 7 July 2026

The Great Canadian (motorcycle) Roadbook Rally - GoldRiver 1 - 7 July 2026

The Great Canadian (motorcycle) Roadbook Rally - GoldRiver ‘26…

Five routes over four days, each route starting and finishing at Sayward Junction.

The event will run from Canada Day Wednesday 1 July 2026 (early arrivals and setting up), Thursday 2nd (possible riding clinic/navig class/hillclimb), Rally Friday Saturday and Sunday, go home Sunday afternoon for work on Monday or chill-and-chew around a campfire until breaking camp on Monday 6 July.

The event will be based at the Sayward Valley Resort, Sayward Junction. Their telephone number is 250-282-3204. 1546 Sayward Rd, BC V0P1R0.

This entry fee is for the navigation rally only. You will get entry to the rally portion of the event.

Camping fees are $12 per tent per night, collected on arrival.

If you would like to bring your RV, or if you would like indoor accommodation (motel room or cabin) please contact Camp owner Faith directly on the number above and explain you are coming for the motorcycle event.

The Thursday activities (at this time, possibly a riding clinic and/or a navigation class and/or a practice Gaia route) are separate, optional activities that are yet to be arranged (we are still a year out…).

Edit: the practice Gaia route has been published on the Blog, although as it is still mid February and the route is still snowed in, it has yet to be pre-ridden to prove all of it is open…

All elements of the whole of the event require participants to be road legal (licenced, registered and insured). The event takes place wholly on public highways and conforms to Road Traffic legislation.

There will be two classes of participation, a non-competition navigation class using Gaia and Roadbooks and a competition class run to Regularity (Time Speed Distance) principles and GPS timing/scoring Richta Rally Timing.

To encourage roadbook navigation, the third day’s route will be distributed as a roadbook only. Participants in the navigation class may ride the route solo or in groups. The competition-class riders will of course ride solo.

The routes will have a Grande Tour feeling to them - no super technical difficult sections. No “hidden” time control points. Ride the average speeds between the time controls over varying terrain at different appropriate speeds - or just ride it and see how you get on!

Stay on your bike. Stay on the road. Stay on the course. Stay on time!

In that order…
