Trailer queen or dirt witch?

True to form, a spanner was thrown into the works of the carefully crafted event plan….

On Friday the petrol station broke! An essential electrical component did what essential electrical components do best.

It fried!

No petrol in Gold river! Over breakfast at Uptown Cappuccino, rescue plans were developed. There were about half a dozen rescue plans ready to be put into effect. All were facilitated by the incredible generosity of Gold River residents.

Gold River Bill shone through as the saviour. Plans b, c, d and e also were effected. Owen (participant) turned up with half a dozen petrol “cans” filled with high octane, Chris turned up with octane boosters, ideas of starting with the (short) third day…

In the end, the failed electrical component was replaced and the petrol station was fixed!

We have riders from Van Isle, the lower mainland, Quebec via Reno Nevada, Germany and Ukraine via San Fransico, Bristol, South Africa via Vancouver. Seattle. An international event!

Tomorrow is an early start and a trip to the northwest (of Vancouver Island)
